Thanks LeKa for the explanation about *Stoff*. I guess that's where we get the English word *stuff* via the Old French *estoffe* (a quilted fabric worn under chain mail). I'm guessing estoffe is from Norman French and since they were originally Norsemen....
Funny that google should translate the slang and not the real meaning.
